Why I believe therapy is so important for youth

In the decade of experience I have working with youth, I have found that growing up in today's world is complicated and strenuous. Adolescence is a time of great growth and self-determination, as well as losses and self-doubt. Throw in social media, a global pandemic, and the pressure toward perfectionism, and you see how complicated the lives of our youth truly are.

While working with young people from Colorado to Maryland, I have found immense hope in their resilience and strength. For me, there is so much joy in helping someone to find their path or helping them to find their feet again if they have fallen down. My clients can always count on me to support them with empathy and without fear of judgment. Throughout my career, I have worked with all different populations. These individuals were often facing the most difficult time of their lives, which I helped them to navigate with dignity. I believe in the beauty and humanity of each person.

I feel that everyone has the right to have a safe space to pause and reflect, which is why I was drawn to start my practice. To me, the mind-body connection, and our connection with nature is paramount. It is important to me to give everyone access to the wellness resources and techniques they deserve to navigate life’s difficulties. We can have many experiences in our lifetime. Each of them has something we can learn from. I can help to figure out what the lesson is and how to grow from it.
